You say Ypres I say Ieper

The British Tommies knew towns and villages in Belgium by their French names. Today, they are known by their Flemish names. So Ypres is now Ieper, Paschendaele is Passendale and Menin is Menen. We’ve used the names familiar to our soldiers but if you’re travelling through Flanders Fields, be aware that the road signs could be confusing!
