Somerby war memorial is in the porch of All Saints Church. Among the names is Ernest Mould who was originally from Oakham. He died at home from sickness and is buried in the village, in the old cemetery (see notes below). Images courtesy of David Gilmour.

Visited All Saints' Church and Churchyard in Somerby.The honour board is located in the entrance porch to the Church.No individual headstone was found.

A second visit to Somerby was required, as I had previously overlooked the separate ' old cemetery ', which contains the burial place of Ernest Mould.This cemetery is located opposite the T-junction signposting Somerby village.The headstone can be found at the far end of the cemetery, in a direct line with the lychgate at the entrance.

Rutland and The Battle of the Somme
More than 90 Rutland soldiers died in the Battle of the Somme which lasted from 1 July 1916 until the middle of November. Today they lie in cemeteries across the old battlefield in northern France or are remembered among the 72,000 names on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.
