About

The Church and Churchyard have memorials to the various Evans-Frekes who fought and died in Britain's wars. Most notably, Percy Evans-Freke of Bisbrooke Hall who died at Frezenberg near Ypres in May 1915. As well as family memorials inside and outside the Church, he's remembered in Bisbrooke Church where his original grave markings are on display.

Do you know something about Glaston War Memorial (St Andrew's Church) that hasn't been mentioned?

Rutland and The Battle of the Somme

More than 90 Rutland soldiers died in the Battle of the Somme which lasted from 1 July 1916 until the middle of November. Today they lie in cemeteries across the old battlefield in northern France or are remembered among the 72,000 names on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme. By using our interactive map, you can find out what happened to them.
